NEDAMO VAM SVE

The exhibition Ne damo vam sve [We Won't Give You Everything] is the result of the contemporary art and critical thinking workshop Gledanje Naglavačke, through which third and fourth-grade high school students and first-year college students created original works under the mentorship of Elena Apostolovski and Petra Čargonja from the independent initiative Spačke.

Authors are: Lara Grdinić, Nina Draščić, Marija Blašković, Aida Mašinović, Sarah Klešin, Claudia Bošković, Stella Sumić and Karlo Klanac.

The exhibition took place at SKC Gallery in 2021. The workshop was part of Drugo More’s Reflex program. Watch the video about the workshop on the website of Drugo more [The Other Sea].

Balancing on the edge of frustration and apathy, they confront the inextricable relationship of cause and effect through experimentation, critical reflection on everyday life, trial and error. By recording and following conversations – with their own diaries, friends, family – they confront the superficiality of social relations. They criticise the structures that impose on them the ideal of excellence, constant productivity and ambition, as well as the cult of individualism and the pressure to always be the best version of ourselves.

They oppose the ‘adult’ world of binary and exploitation in which the rules of the game are set to the detriment of the majority, and say: “We won’t give you everything, you won’t get all of us.”
